Levi Strauss still scores 100/100 in our database. In June 2026 the company published its own Pride recap: a "Together, We Ride" collection, a $100,000 gift to Outright International, and parade sponsorships in San Francisco, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Paris, and Warsaw. It also says it has been an HRC "Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality" every year since 2004, including a perfect Corporate Equality Index run now stretching 22 years. That is not a quiet HR policy. That is a clothing company spending brand equity on a political season most of corporate America spent walking back.
If you still buy jeans, tees, and hoodies on autopilot, you are probably funding that stack. This guide is the opposite of a vibe check. It is seven non-woke patriotic clothing brands with real woke scores — all 0 to 3 — plus the household names you should quit treating as neutral.
The mall brands are not "just clothes"
Levi Strauss & Co. is the cleanest receipt in apparel: 100/100, extremely woke, published. Shareholders already voted to keep DEI. Pride is not a side SKU; it is an 11-year collection streak plus 2026 global parade money.
Nike scores 75/100. Our brand file still rates it extremely woke on ESG, DEI targets, political giving, and CEO Action. Nike skipped its long-running Be True Pride collection in 2024 and has not brought it back, and an EEOC subpoena fight over alleged race discrimination in DEI programs was later dismissed after Nike produced documents — that is process, not a clean bill of health. The score did not drop to New Balance territory.
The North Face sits at 100/100 (content review) through parent VF Corporation's HRC and IDEA apparatus. Gap Inc. is 70/100 (content review) on ESG, representation goals, Pride sponsorship, and a long HRC streak. None of those four are "both sides" closet fillers.
How we picked these seven
Every name below is in the BuyWokeFree brand database. We required published or content-review records, a score of 3 or lower, and a storefront a shopper can actually hit. Tiny stalls with empty score summaries got skipped. We also left New Balance (20/100, mildly woke, published) off the "free" list on purpose: it is the least-bad mall sneaker, not a zero.
7 non-woke clothing brands, scored
1. Grunt Style — 0/100
Grunt Style is the household name on this list. Veteran-founded, San Antonio-based, openly patriotic, no ESG report, no DEI office, no Pride collection, no HRC CEI file. Our score is a flat 0/100. Status is content_review, not because the politics are fuzzy — because we flag large anti-woke brands for a second pass — so treat the zero as current, not carved in stone. If you want one cart that does not subsidize Levi's parade budget, begin here.
2. 1620 Customs — 1/100
1620 Customs scores 1/100, not woke, published. Preliminary review found no DEI program, no Pride calendar, and no ESG theater. It sells product, not a lecture.
3. We Hold Fast — 3/100
We Hold Fast is 3/100, published. Same pattern: no extreme-left brand campaigns, no DEI department to brag about, American-freedom positioning instead of a supplier-diversity slide deck.
4. Born United — 3/100
Born United (South Carolina) scores 3/100, published. Faith, family, and freedom merch. No public DEI bureaucracy, no Pride month drop, no HRC rating. Military and law-enforcement collections without a Fortune 500 apology tour.
5. Baller Hoodies — 3/100
Baller Hoodies is a family-owned Texas shop at 3/100, published. Collections named America First, American Patriot, and One Nation Under God are not coded. You know what you are buying.
6. Black River Apparel — 2/100
Black River Apparel scores 2/100, published. American-made since 2021, cancer-foundation and conservation giving, and — at this scale — no ESG report, no DEI office, no PAC. Buying here funds a domestic maker, not a political machine.
7. American Patriot — 2/100
American Patriot (Las Vegas, veteran-owned) is 2/100, published. Pro-police and military positioning, a buy-one-give-one program, no Pride, DEI, or ESG apparatus on the record we scored.
What about Carhartt?
Carhartt is 30/100 (content review). The 2022 vaccine-mandate fight still sits in the file, plus sustainability and DEI language, without an HRC perfect score. That is not Levi's. It is also not Grunt Style. New Balance at 20 is the mainstream compromise if you need running shoes, not a clothing-aisle free pass.
Shop the category, not the slogan
Slogans are cheap. Scores are not. Start on our patriotic clothing map, then cross-check the rest of apparel and accessories before you reorder the same Nike hoodie out of habit. If a brand will not put a number on the receipt, it is asking you to donate in the dark.
Levi's told you where the $100,000 went. These seven told you they would not send it.
