What They Do

Automotive Excellence is a family-owned, full-service automotive repair shop serving Placerville, California and the surrounding communities. The shop states it has been at this for more than twenty-six years, and describes its mission in terms most independent garages would recognize: “to provide honest, high-quality automotive care backed by genuine customer relationships.” Its line about the work is worth quoting directly — “we treat every vehicle like it's our own—because to us, you're not just a customer, you're part of the Automotive Excellence family.”

The shop is a NAPA AutoCare Center, which carries a nationwide 36-month/36,000-mile warranty on most repairs. Services span brakes (pads, rotors, and fluid systems), batteries, starters and alternators, oil changes, air conditioning diagnosis and compressor work, cooling systems including radiators, water pumps and hoses, and suspension and steering. The shop also handles California smog certification and, notably, RV repairs — a capability most general auto shops do not offer, and one that requires bay space and equipment a small garage has to deliberately invest in.

What We Checked

We reviewed the shop's public site and searched federal campaign-finance records against the FEC's current committee master file for any registered political committee under the Automotive Excellence name. There is none. We found no lobbying registrations and no corporate advocacy activity. At this size that is the expected result, not a discovery.

Money spent here goes to a family that owns a garage in Placerville and to the technicians turning the wrenches, not to a corporate political apparatus.
