Sony Just Told You That You Don't Own Your Games
The #PSBlackout boycott is running through August 30. Sony's new EULA makes it explicit: you are licensing access, not buying a disc you can resell or keep forever. PlayStation scores 90 on BuyWokeFree. Parent company Sony scores 80. Both are published and live in the database.
The Receipt
@eurogamer reported the EULA language on August 23. The post has 35.8K views and is still climbing. @DaLegendaryXbot's boycott call has 24.6K views. The campaign is organized, dated, and product-specific — exactly the kind of receipt the scorecard was built to surface.
Why the Scores Matter
PlayStation's 90 reflects repeated corporate choices on content policy, platform control, and DEI-adjacent hiring language that have not been walked back. Sony's 80 is the parent-level score. Neither number changed because of the boycott announcement. The language simply made the ownership issue impossible to ignore.
