What They Do

Billet Bones makes custom dominoes machined from solid aircraft-quality aluminum at 2210 E Ganley Rd in Tucson, Arizona. The business was established in 2001 and is designed and run by Ronnie Rosales, who writes about the work in the first person throughout the site: "Welcome to the most exclusive producer of custom dominoes designed by myself, Ronnie Rosales."

The product line covers deluxe and tournament-sized sets in double 6, double 9 and double 12, hard-anodized Type III black sets, Swarovski crystal sets, faux leather storage boxes, domino pendants and scoring chips, with prices running from $75 accessories up to $2,000 crystal sets. Tiles are anodized to resist corrosion and scratching, and engraving is cut into the surface roughly three thousandths of an inch deep "so that the initials never fade or wear over time so they last from generation to generation" — a deliberate contrast to laser etching or silk screening. Deluxe dominoes measure 1 x 2 x 1/2 inch. Rosales offers custom fonts, will duplicate a customer's signature on the backs of a set, and emails font samples before engraving. The sets have been featured twice in Men's Health and Men's Journal, and appeared on The Most Expensivest, season 2, episode 7.
